Lined Tote upcycled from trousers

This week's clothing upcycle for my
is another bag.

This time I took a pair of plain but sturdy trousers and paired them with some colourful fabric from my stash.

I used this tutorial from The Inspired Wren, which was beautifully clear and easy to follow.

It's a nice simple and very sturdy bag - with double fabric in the base and the handles running all the way down and under too!

I've bagged up the remnants of the trousers - the waistband, zip, pockets and a few fabric scraps for a future project.

To see what I've made so far this year from my clothes to be upcycled stash - take a look here. Then come back each week to see what else I make.
You can also follow along with these and lots more sewing and upcycling on my Facebook page.

  1. This one is particularly pretty, Jill! Love the colors together, and how deep the bag is for extra useful carrying. Another couple of pant legs closer to your goal!
