Wrist Cuffs and Sugar Gliders - more clothes upcycles


With just over a week to go until the school carnival, I've been upcycling a last few things for the stall.

I've made a few wristcuffs from the jeans waistbands. I have about 50 of these cuffs to decorate - a nice project to sit and do in the evenings while watching TV.

So far I have some flower ones.

And there are even a few waistband parts that had pretty writing on already!

I also managed to squeeze in a couple of sugar gliders from an old pair of kids leggings!

Next week, in the lead up to the carnival, I shall be posting a clothes upcycle each day that will be added to the stall. I'm excited about it all, but nervous too. After months of planning and preparation, I just hope it all goes well and that things sell!

    That's fantastic, it's difficult to make each wrist cuff different but they all look wonderful!
    I also like the cats on the last picture, they're just great :-)

    Looooove the cuffs with buttonholes! And the sugargliders are goofy-adorable. Can't wait to hear the results of the carnival.

    This answers half my question I left on your last post, button and button holes or Velcro to secure the wrist bands, I'd still love to see how you make the pretty flowers. Have you done these as broaches too with safety pins on the back? I've never heard of the term 'Sugar Glider' but they look very cute! I know your carnival is going to be a success. Thank you for the lovely inspirational ideas coming to #Trash2Treasure

      The flowers are all very simple - there are so many tutorials out there to choose from. I'm sharing some in my new ebook that comes out next week to teach kids to sew!
      And sugar gliders are a kind of possum here in Australia that have webs between their limbs so they can jump and glide between trees!
