Yesterday my parents arrived from England for a visit. They brought presents with them! Lucky us!!
My favourite was the one shown in the picture above. Can you guess what it is?
A pair of 'floor cleaning slippers'!
So I can 'skate' around on the tiles and clean as I go! So much fun! My girls love them too.
They also brought out a chocolate cookbook I remember from my childhood:
This book is now my daughter's as she loves to bake chocolate things. I remember making these chocolate domino biscuits when I was a kid!
Yummy! Can't wait till my daughter starts baking things from this book!
Mum and Dad also brought a box of the cereal my husband misses from the UK.
While presents are lovely, the real gift is having my parents here for a few short weeks. So nice to catch up with them and for the kids to get time to spend time with their grandparents!

How lovely for you all having them to visit:) The slippers look great fun :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicky! we're all really enjoying their visit!
DeleteHow lovely to spend time with them. The slippers rte cool!
ReplyDeleteYes it is a lovely time Kezzie - thanks!
DeleteSo funny how you can sometimes buy the same thing in a different country but it never really tastes the same. Have a wonderful time with your family~
ReplyDeleteThanks Tamara! I got my parents to bring out my favourite type of chocolate (Dairy Milk) which we can also buy here but doesn't taste the same. We all did a taste test with the Uk and Aussie versions and agreed they were different - then we checked the ingredients and found they are even made differently!
DeleteI need those slippers. What a great idea. Perfect for someone who does not like to bend over to clean up a small dirt spot! So sweet of them to bring these homesick little items all the way across the world to make you feel good. You are lucky to have parents like that.
ReplyDeleteI am lucky Michelle! And I think every home should have a pair of cleaning slippers like these - my girls are constantly scrubbing my floor now!! :)
