My Creative Space - more teaching my daughter's to sew

This year I'm teaching my two daughters, aged 5 and (now) 8!! to sew.  Last week we did a really simple project - making a few drawstring bags to use as the party favour bags at my eldest's birthday party!
I forgot to take pictures of them all finished and full - but here's one!

The youngest wanted to make her own, so they both made them together!
Using my overlocker (serger)...

Getting better all the time with those tricky pins...

And now quite the experts with my sewing machine!

The party was a 'vet' theme - so lots of animals around! Including the cake..

The guests were super impressed with their handmade party bags!  One proud big girl handing them out at the end!! Great stuff! (proud mum too!!)

A lovely day, and now we're looking forward to the youngest's birthday in just over a week's time!

  1. Aren't your girls clever and lucky to have a Mum who takes the time to sit and teach them a skill that is so useful, they'll be experts before they get to home ec;) xo

  2. What a fantastic idea...a party bag you can use again and again. Well done girls.
