Creating my way to Sucess

Every Wednesday our hosts on each continent will introduce you to someone new whose creativity is inspiring!
Join us in our tour around our Creative World - follow the hosts and any blogs you like,  and add your own link so others can find you!
If you are interested in being featured yourself, then leave a comment for your continent's host!
This week's featured guest in Australasia is: A Spoonful of Sugar:
From Perth, Australia
Thanks Jill for welcoming us to your blog. We are a mother and teen daughter who love to put the creative into the everyday and share our crafts, sewing, and baking projects over at A Spoonful of Sugar.

What do you create?
We love to add creativity to everything we do. We dabble in a wide range of crafts including:  sewing, quilting, paper crafts, jewellery making, decoupage, embroidery, knitting, and crochet. We also love to bake and make confectionery and preserves.

Why do you create?

We love to bring creativity in all its forms to our daily life – be it in baking up treats for our family, setting the table for a special dinner, wrapping a special gift, or in one of our crafty projects.  We get a lot of satisfaction from making things and are often in the kitchen or craft room together working on our latest project.

We love to give home made gifts to friends and family – as you can put your love into the project to show them how much you care. We enjoy giving gifts from our kitchen – jams, cookies etc, as well as small sewn projects. Christmas is our favourite time of year and is a great opportunity to make up special decorations and gifts to put some spirit in the season.

Do you sell your creations?

No - we create for our own pleasure and to make gifts for special family and friends.

What to you is success? Have you achieved it yet, or are you on your way to success?

When we started our blog 3 1/2 years ago, it was simply a fun activity that we could do together to share our love of making things. Surprisingly our blog has grown over the years and we now have a large readership, and have made many online and real life friends as result. It has also given us a number of exciting opportunities - we were interviewed by Studios Magazine recently; and Lisa has had her sewing designs published in a number of books and magazines including Stitch, Quilting Arts Gifts, Homespun and Handmade.
So what's next?

We are hoping to launch an etsy store later in the year that sells pdf patterns of our designs.

We would love you to drop over to A Spoonful of Sugar and say hi! You can find us on our blog and on facebook. We also host a weekly linkup party each weekend called Weekend Baking. We would love if you stopped by and added your favourite baking recipe to our link up.
